Human Trafficking, EMS and the Fire Service
Human trafficking anywhere is modern day slavery.
Forced labor, sex trafficking and domestic servitude- It's
happening in our communities! It's time to open our eyes,
get informed and recognize human trafficking. Learn how
Nebraska EMTs and firefighters can help and how they can
make a difference.

Bombs & Explosives (classroom)
Students will learn basics of explosives and explosives
effects, military munitions and IEDs.
Explosives are broken down into categories and the
dangers associated with each.
Safety precautions associated with explosives will also be
covered and how students can implement those safety
precautions in their daily duties.
Next, instructors will cover military munitions and the four
categories they are broken into.
The instructors will have inert training aids from each
category so students can see and touch the ordnance
items and get a better idea of size, shape, colors, etc.
Inherent dangers with specific types of ordnance and
how to react if an unexploded ordnance ((UXO) is found
and what actions to take are covered during this portion
of the class.
Lastly, the instructors will touch on Improvised Explosive
Devices (IEDs) components of IEDs, types of IEDs, how the
enemy uses them indicators, and how to react to an IED
are covered in this last block of instruction. Instructors will
use real life incidents and experience to help students
understand the real-world hazards associated with
explosives. UXO, and IEDs and how to safety react to an
incident involving these items.

Use of bomb suits, robots and x-ray equipment.
The field lab session will be conducted at the Nebraska Law
Enforcement Training Center (Grand Island) with the
assistance of Nebraska State Patrol bomb technicians.
(Bus transportation to field lab will be provided.)
Sunday, May 18- 8:00 a.m. - 11:00 a.m.
Firefighters, EMTs, Crime Scenes & Death Investigations
Law enforcement, EMT's and firefighters working together.
Topics to be discussed include physical evidence,
eyewitness accounts, confessions, probable cause, elements
of an offense, scene safety and much more.
Student Course Limit: 65
No PPE is required. This is a classroom setting only.
